The Challenge

  • Produce and deliver the user manuals for more than 150 machines
    • On demand (reduce stock to zero)
    • In 24 languages
    • For a network of 220 dealers in Europe, Africa and Middle East
  • Ensure the manuals are delivered before the machines to the dealer
  • Remove the need for a buffer stock of 10,000
  • Provide a real-time order status for each dealer
  • Provide a delivery tracking system for each order

The solution

  • Develop a WEB platform (Web-2-Print) that allows to
    • be integrated into Bobcat's international order management system
    • order and personalize the manuals for each machine for each dealer in each market in the local language (6,000 files!)
    • follow the production status online
    • print documents on demand
  • Creation of a delivery tracking management system for all the orders
  • Order process, production and delivery handled by Identic, thanks to the implementation of an Account Manager (SPOC) who manages the entire process
  • Digital printing of the manuals on demand

Results

  • Bobcat's « Technical Publications » Department is now completely relieved of the order process, and can focus on higher added value tasks
  • The management system pilots the entire order process
  • Production costs are reduced thanks to the stock brought down to zero
  • Each manual is delivered on time -> Customer satisfaction
  • Higher efficiency and risk reduction (loss or delays) thanks to the order and delivery tracking system
