AstraZeneca's Sales & Marketing Division is composed of different departments, each using their agency and printer.

The Challenge

  • Regroup the procurement of all printing requirements
  • Find and provide best Value For Money (print-broking)
  • Provide a single point of contact for the production management of all the jobs
  • Provide a reporting system that allows an overall view of who orders what, to whom and at what price

The Solution

  • An Account Manager lined up for the job (SPOC)

    • Follow-up of all production jobs from order to delivery
  • Development of a WEB platform (Web-2-Print) that allows to
    • order and manage the coordination of all print production jobs
    • follow the production status online
    • manage stocks
    • view a proper dashboard that gives an overview of all the printing jobs

Results

  • Reduction of print production costs as well as the agency commissions, from 2.8 to 1.8 million euro(-36%!)
  • Procurement costs under control and optimized print production budgets
  • Orders are all centralized: 600 jobs are delegated to Identic's Account Manager
  • Reduction in the number of repetitive operational tasks for the marketing department

Conclusion

Identic's WEB tool combined with the implementation of a dedicated Account Manager has allowed AstraZeneca to structure the procurement process and hence reduce production costs by 36%.
